Welcome to the camp of the Hollola Medieval Market 19.-21.7.2024 at the shire of Hollola in the year 1400. A Medieval encampment rises in Hollola next to Hollola Church and Kapatuosia hillfort during the medieval fair. The theme of our event is Saint Anna and craftsmen.
The camp is open from Wednesday 17.7. until Sunday 21.7. On Saturday evening there will be a big feast (bring-dish party) for the whole camp.

Travelling to Hollola
The event is situated at old Hollola. The best way to get is by car since there is no public transport available at summertime. The GPS address is Rantatie 917, 16710 Hollola.
Public transport will bring you as far as the Lahti railway and bus station Matkakeskus and after that one needs a cab or a pick-up from someone. Pick-ups need to be agreed in advance.
Arrival to the camp
When arriving to the camp please present yourself to the camp chief Maria Heikkinen (phone 0503824985). Do not start to build your tents before you get a backup of your location. If you come on Saturday you can not drive to the camping area.
The official event opens on Friday 19.7. at 14:00 but you can come to the camp already on Wednesday 17.7. Please give us a note in advance when you are coming.
Departure
The Event closes on Sunday 21.7. at 16:00. Bringing the cars into the camping area before that is prohibited. Please be sure that all modern items are hidden until the end of the event.
Camp pass
Each of the pre-registered campers gets a passport that must be kept at hand at all times, because the event area is guarded also at night time (Friday to Sunday).
Opening hours
- Friday 19.7. at 14:00 – 19:00.
- Saturday 20.7. at 10:00 – 19:00.
- Sunday 21.7. at 10:00 – 16:00.
Security
During opening hours first aid personnel can be found at tent marked as “INFO”. While event is closed for audience first aid kit can be found at the same tent. Every security/health incident has to be reported for event safety manager (Lauri Lännenpää 0403589259). In serious security/health incidents call for help at official emergency number 112 and follow the orders. The GPS address is Rantatie 917, 16710 Hollola.
Fireplaces
Only above ground fireplaces allowed. Fireplace has to be as authentic as possible. There has to be at least one fire extinguisher for each fireplace (will be checked that it is up to date). Fire extinguishers for emergency use are located at ticket sale booths, tent marked as “INFO” and at the restaurant.
Camp rules
No smoking at all times except at places clearly marked for smoking as “Tupakkapaikka” / “smoking area”. This restriction is valid also during the feast and after opening hours of the event. Smoking at your fireplace is prohibited. This is a matter of fire security and common health.
There shall be no cars at the event area during opening hours.
Modern items are not to be visible at the camp at any time.
Please consider the other campers at night time.
Trading in the camp
Selling your own goods is allowed but they must be confirmed by Maria Heikkinen (person in charge of camp).
Refreshments
During opening hours drinking alcohol is only allowed at the restaurant and only for over 18 year olds. Even when the event is closed for audience please drink all beverages from a period cup. No bottles or cans visible.
Pets
Re-enactors and market sales personnel are welcome to bring pets with them to the event. For the audience it is prohibited to bring pets to the area.
Tents
Because we are living the year AD 1400 it is not suitable to have viking A-line tents at the camp. Pavillions, saxons and cones instead are suitable.
Food
Everybody is responsible for their own meals. Warm meals can be purchased from the restaurant tent at lunch hours.There’s a grocery store “Sale” approx. 300 meters from the west gate.
ATM
There is no ATM at the site. Nearest ATM can be found about 15 km east at Salpakangas.
Facilities
Firewood, straw and drinking water are provided to campers, sellers and performers. There are free toilets in the area, but no showers. There is a medieval spa in the camp area. The services of which you can enjoy for a small additional fee. There is also a lake Vesijärvi nearby (about 200m away from the event area).

Photographing is allowed to all re-enactors during the whole event. We kindly ask you to publish also at #hollolankeskiaika2024.
